The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has condemned musicians Wanlov the Kubolor and M3nsa for posing nude in a photo, calling the development "unfortunate."
Wanlov and 'partner in crime' M3nsa went completely nude in a sensational photo taking moment at a beautiful mangrove believed to be outside the country. The nude photo surfaced on the internet Friday and has gone viral on social media.
Commenting on the photo, Ahuma Ocansey, Administrator at MUSIGA told Joy News, "The pictures are in bad taste. Artistes do all sorts of things for various reasons. Some to enhance their popularity and things like that but in a nutshell, I would say that it is rather unfortunate."
According to him, he knows Wanlov and M3nsa, who make up the group FOKN Bois, "are quite extroverted in their approach to promoting their career but one would actually urge some form of toning down bearing in mind that these days kids have access to online facilities - young boys and girls who are under age, without any restriction could access these pictures."
Asked if the musicians' body will take any action against the artiste, the MUSIGA Administrator said that was unlikely.
"As a matter of fact, MUSIGA might not necessarily take any punitive measure against them because in this era of freedom of expression, we will only appeal to their sensibilities and encourage them to be more measured in how they approach their marketing and publicity," he explained.
Ahuma Ocansey, however revealed that, MUSIGA will be reviewing the development and would come out with some form of guidelines and ethics to guide how practitioners practice their art.
"I want to believe that it's the absence of the code of ethics governing the profession that is also warranting such extroverted attempts by artistes to market themselves," he added.
The MUSIGA Administrator called "on all artistes to be mindful of the kind of marketing strategies they adopt."
This is not the first time the Cos ov Moni star, who has carved a niche for himself with his weird sense of fashion notably walking barefooted and also wearing a scant piece of cloth round his waist, has publicly displayed his manhood.
In 2012, he accepted a challenge by television show hostess, Delay during an interview to expose his vital parts.
Wanlov, who was the guest on Deloris Frimpong Manso’s Delay show was quizzed by the hostess of the show how true some of the myths about him were – especially the one relating to him not wearing panties in public.
Delay asked him whether it was true that he walks without panties adding she had been told that it was only a myth.
With Wanlov stressing that he does not wear panties, Delay dared him to provide proof to back his claim, something he didn’t hesitate to do lifting his skirt to reveal his goodies in front of the cameras.
