Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo, has warned incoming Police Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) officials against corruption and unprofessional conduct.The Regional Minister, who heads security in the region, also said it is important for the new officers to the region to remain professional and guard the integrity of the Service.The Regional Minister's caution to the new unit comes on the back of the mass transfer of MTTU officials in Sunyani for alleged bribery and other corrupt practices. They were alleged to have extorted monies from commuters particularly, those who ply the Techiman-Buipe road.The Minister told the unit officials to be of good conduct in order to avert the punishment of their colleagues suffered last month.The Police Administration last month directed the transfer of all officers of the Motor Traffic Transport Unit at Sunyani over alleged corruption and other compromising conducts.The Minister was however, hopeful that "those who are coming in will reflect on what happened [to their colleagues] and do a good job...in the region."Paul Evans Aidoo revealed that there have been several discussions and training with the new unit to further drum home the importance for them to be professional in the work."Whoever indulges himself or herself in that [corrupt practices] will also face the same action the IGP has taken [transfer or prosecution]", he warned.
