A new report by the West Africa Network for Peace building has named the growing labour unrests in the country as having the potential of destabilizing the country.
The report also mentioned increasing armed attacks, increasing threats of political and social unrests as some sources of violence in the country.
Acting Coordinator of WANEP Isaac Bayor says the report is part of the early warning signals issued quarterly to the security agencies by the network.
He told Joy News the security agencies must take a cue from the report and solve the sources of these threats before they degenerate.
With the country currently drowning in a sea of strikes and demonstrations, Bayor feared the situation could deteriorate if not handled with care and urgency.
He also hinted of the possibility of political heads infiltrating the labour unions to manipulate the situation for their own political benefit.
He said if these unrests are not curbed, people can exploit the situation to incite violence.
The report comes at a time when the National Security Advisor Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah is alleging the current labour unrests in the country are being manipulated by the opposition NPP, an allegation the NPP has vehemently dismissed.
The report also named the education and health sectors as the worst affected strike prone areas in the country with the Greater Accra being the most vulnerable region.
