A new artiste, Nash Bonchaka has surfaced on Ghana’s music scene to keep up the legacy of late popular hip-life icon, Terry Bonchaka.
Terry, a grandson of late Ghanaian Speaker of Parliament, Peter Ala Adjetey, died in car accident in October 2003.
October 29, according to Nash Bonchaka, marks exactly 10 years since the unique artiste passed on.
Nash Bonchaka has released his new titled ‘Taking Over’ featuring Abuja & Elee Bonch and produced by Bullet Beat. He sounded exactly like Terry Bonchaka on the track and looked like him in the song’s video.
"Hope Ghanaians haven’t forgotten about our late legend Terry Bonchaka…Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it,” he tweeted.
Earlier reports said there were plans to build a museum in honour and celebration of the young man, whose death shocked the music fraternity at the time.
Producer Zapp Mallet last month was quoted for describing Terry Bonchaka as “a vivacious, lively, bubbly full of fun type of guy that I knew very talented, very energetic. I never saw him with any frown on his face.
“With all the years that we worked together, Terry was so much fun to be with, I handled Terry right from the beginning.
“I was close enough to Terry musically. Terry had so much in him, he was somebody who would wow a crowd; he could just swing a show towards his side and carry the whole crowd and carry the day. That was one of his big strengths; he was on top of his game.”
