Eighteen months after President John Mahama cut a sod for the reconstruction of the Ho Central Market, not a single structure has been put up.
This came to the realisation of the president during a visit to the area as part of his two day working visit to the Volta Region.
According to Joy News' Volta Region correspondent Hubert Kofi Agbi, John Mahama, then as vice president cut the sod in May 2012 for the project to begin.
The project was part of the Ghana Urban Management Pilot Project (GUMPP).
Eighteen months down the line, not a single infrastructure can be found on the project site, a development which has disappointed the president.
The president did not mince words in his criticism of the project handlers. He said he was expecting a nice built rehabilitated market only to find out the land has been left completely bare.
Whilst blaming the fiasco on unnecessary bureaucracy, the president assured that he would deal drastically with all officials whose action or inaction have led to this inertia.
