Mercy Amoah, Culture and Engagement Manager of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has presented the company's Employee Wellbeing Programme to participants at the Ghana Business Coalition on Employee Wellbeing (GBCEW) forum.
The forum was under the theme “Employee Wellbeing – a key element in your strategy to motivate staff, reduce cost, and increase profitability” and sought to highlight the importance of investing in employee wellbeing and its direct correlation with increased productivity and profitability.
Presenting a case study of GGBL, Mrs Amoah said "GGBL invests in comprehensive employee wellbeing programmes that includes an integrated fitness programme, a comprehensive health insurance scheme, canteen and bar services, numerous engagement activities that seek to provide a conducive working environment for all employees".
These activities she said actually improved GGBL’s super engagement score – a measure of employee engagement used within Diageo - by 8% in 2013 financial year.
To continue to be a leading business in our industry, employee wellbeing is critical’ she stated.
Annekatrin El Oumrany, Marketing and M&E Manager – GBCEW was impressed by GGBL's Employee Wellbeing Programmes. She said other companies must also include employee wellbeing as their top priorites.

The forum was supported by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the German International Cooperation (GIZ).
