Media reports that the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) had arrested the Greater Accra Regional manager of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Noah Martey Tetteh for rape have turned out to be false.
The New Crusading Giude’s sources at the BNI denied allegations of the state’s internal intelligence agency making such an arrest or investigating the matter in question.
Our source explained that the BNI has no mandate to conduct such investigations. Among the duties of the BNI are ; dealing with organized crime and financial crime, and providing intelligence to counter threats to Ghana's national security
It was reported by sections of the media on Wednesday that Mr. Noah Martey Tetteh was picked up Tuesday morning by the BNI after allegedly luring an intern into his office and forced himself on her.
Meanwhile the DVLA has denied allegations that its boss was involved in any alleged sexual harassment.
The organization admitted though that the case as has been reported to management, but added that there was no truth in the allegation of sexual harassment against Mr. Tetteh
An official statement issued by the DVLA Management and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Wednesday further denied that officials from the BNI have picked up the said Regional Licensing Manager.
According to the statement, DVLA Management first received a complaint from the victim a few weeks ago, and invited the two parties involved, but the Regional Licensing Manager denied any wrong doing.
