Civil society group Food Sovereignty Ghana says President Mahama must personally ensure a ban on the use of genetically-modified foods in the country.
The CPP is also raising "serious" concerns that if Parliament goes ahead to pass the Plant Breeders bill, it will introduce dangerous modifications in the DNA of foods causing diseases and deformities.

Ghana has started field trials of crops lke maize and coton which have been widely criticized as being unsafe for consumption.
