The Commission of Inquiry established by President John Mahama to inquire into Judgement Debt Payments and other related matters will hold three public sittings on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, December 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
A statement issued by Mr George William Dove, Public Relations Officer of the Commission and copied to the Ghana News Agency at the weekend said the Ministry of Finance and the Registrar General’s Department had been invited to appear before the Commission to assist the Commission in its work on Monday December 2, 2013.
It said the Executive Secretary, Lands Commission and Chief Valuer, Lands Commission are to appear before the Commission on Tuesday December 3; while Seth Mensah Dumoga Esq and the Volta River Authority would appear before it on Wednesday December 4, 2013.
“However, they are also informed that they are at liberty to appear with their lawyers, and also the Commission wishes to remind the general public that Public sittings would be held at 1000 hours each day.
“Members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information are first to report at the Commission’s office to give their statements. The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence,” it said.
The statement said all those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission, adding that all such memoranda would be treated confidentially.
