Government says the planned construction of the Information Communication Technology park in Tema should be good enough to employ people by close of January 2014.
The 400-million dollar ICT Park project which is a Public Private Partnership initiative was created to boost the technology base in Ghana.
Government pumped an initial amount of 10-million dollar facility being a sub component of the project.
Communications Minister Dr Omane Boamah told Joy News, the 50 hectare ICT park will create jobs for many Ghanaians by end of January.
"We have demonstrated clearly that we are not just ready on paper but we are ready in terms of action.
"It is our belief that within the next three years we would have populated this 50 hectare park so that at least a minimum of 40,000 workers would be employed here directly.
He said the government will hold the project contractors to their word and give them the January extension date adding if that is not done the "necessary penalties and sanctions will apply."
He added all health and environmental concerns have been addressed.
