The destruction caused by last month’s fire outbreak at the Old Parliament House has forced the Judgment Debt Commission to postpone the resumption of its sitting by two weeks.
The Commission at its final public sitting in December last year adjourned till January 6, 2014.

However, a few days later, major sections of the building was razed down by fire.
The fire destroyed the building in which the Sole Commissioner, Justice Yaw Appau, is inquiring into dubious Judgement Debt Payments and other related matters.
After the fire incident, Government gave the Judgment Debt Commission the offices of the Constitutional Review Commission at Cantonments to operate from.
However, Public Relations Officer of the Commission, George William Dove, told Joy News sittings can only resume after renovation works, currently ongoing at the new building, has been completed.
"We expect that in two weeks, work should be completed then we'll be able to resume public sitting somewhere in January", he stated.
