The Upper West Regional Police Command stormed a local radio station and arrested two political communicators who claim to know the training location of armed robbers in the region.
"The case against him is that he knows where they train armed robbers, so he should go and lead us to arrest them, period!", Acting Upper West Public Relations Officer of the Ghana police service, ASP Edmund Adinkra Nyamekye confirmed.
The two radio panelists who were discussing recent surge in armed robbery in the region, were arrested yesterday during a live radio programme at a local radio station, Suugmalee FM in Wa.
Six gun-wielding police officers led by the Acting Upper West Public Relations Officer of the Ghana police service, ASP Edmund Adinkra Nyamekye also seized three pen drives and two Central Processing Units of the local radio station.
The two are Abudu Muniru former Wa central youth organizer of the NPP and Braimah Mathew the 2012 parliamentary candidate of the PNC.
They have since been released after writing their statements.
The PRO told Joy News that information was difficult to come by in the region as most people are tight-lipped about activities of criminals.
This, he said prompted him to take the comments by the radio panelists seriously once he heard it.
