Government says it has secured all the funds needed to complete the ultra modern Police hospital in Accra which has been under construction for the past 10 years.
Vice President Papa Kwesi Amissah Arthur says this confirms government’s determination to give its fullest support to investments and projects which will bring relieve to Ghanaians.
On Thursday, Mr. Amissah Arthur spent time with the top hierarchy of the police administration touring the facility which contractors say will be ready in April 2016.
The Vice President told journalists the construction of the hospital has delayed because the financing of the project was not planned before it took off.
“We have completed the financing agreement so there and therefore there is nothing that will interrupt the progress of the work.”
In a related development, the Vice President also commissioned 42 units 3-bedroom accommodation facility meant for senior officers of the police service.
Mr. Amissah Arthur tasked the police administration to ensure the edifice is maintained.
The Inspector General of Police Mohammed Alhassan told Joy News’ Seth Kwame Boateng he will see to the maintenance of the facility.
“If we accommodate right number of persons we will not be seeing overflow of people in single room,” he said, adding that this would be possible because young officers are very much aware of the need to do family planning to have a sizeable family.
