Head of Chancery at the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom has called on Ghanaians in the diaspora and potential investors to explore investment opportunities in the property and lifestyle sectors of the economy.
Matilda Alomatu Osei-Agyeman said this when reading a speech made on behalf of the Ghana High Commissioner to the UK and Republic of Ireland, Papa Owusu-Ankomah, at the 3rd Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo.
The Expo was held at Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel in London, last Saturday.
This year’s event, third in the series attracted a lot of patronage and interest from Ghanaians in the diaspora, potential investors, fund managers, bankers, real estate developers, media fraternity as well as other service providers.
Mrs Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, in her address, highlighted some of the major initiatives by government in the sector.
Government, acting through the Works and Housing Ministry is in the process of concluding the Real Estate Agency Bill for the consideration of Cabinet and subsequent Parliamentary approval.
The Head of Chancery says government, is committed to protecting prospective buyers of properties in Ghana by diasporans as well as further create the conducive environment for industry players to operate in a transparent, predictable business environment.

It is highly anticipated that the passing of the Bill into law will also strengthen the anti-corruption initiatives in the country and curb money laundering and other financial malpractices in the sector.
Matilda Alomatu Osei-Agyeman says the Bill when enacted into law, will be in the interest of good governance and give the country an improved standing in global compliant assessment and bring confidence in the real estate and property market.
The High Commission commended the management of ‘On Point Property Management Services’ for organizing such an innovative expo which among other things, seek to attract targeted investment into the country and create the platform for engagement with the different actors on the value chain.
Participants also benefitted from presentations from industry experts in areas of finance, legal, Estate planning, including lifestyle exhibitors.
There were positive engagements with the view of acquiring properties and hedging in the real estate sector.
Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo provide a one-stop-shop for anyone contemplating investing or visiting Ghana and is timely support for the diaspora.
The Expo served as the perfect platform by cultivating an environment of transparent, professional service, and participants benefitted from valuable information on how to safely invest in Ghana.
