After a gruelling four-stage screening which has seen thousands fall by the way leaving six women and 35 men standing, the stage is all set for the grand finale of the Ghana Driver & Road Safety Awards 2019.
The 'Overall Best Driver 2019' will drive home in a brand-new Suzuki Alto vehicle and other Category winners will go with various goodies in prizes.
The Ghana Driver & Road Safety Awards is organised by the GDRSA Foundation with the support of the National Road Safety Authority, Ministry of Transport, DVLA, MTTD of Ghana Police Service, and the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council.
With the theme as “[r]ewarding driving excellence, promoting road safety”, the Ghana Driver & Road Safety Awards aims to drive the agenda of “Ghana Beyond Road Traffic Crashes” in support of the development of the nation.
The GDRSA Foundation notes that road traffic crashes deprive the nation of valuable human capital and causes unnecessary destruction of economic value.
The 41 finalists whose pictures appear below, are represented from commercial transport station across the country with other from Uber, and some corporate organisations.
All roads lead to the forecourt of the State House, Osu, on Thursday, November 21, at 9 am to witness the showdown.
The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will be the special guest of honour with the Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah and his deputies as well as dignitaries from several road safety organisations, gracing the programme.
