Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) has accused government of failing to live up to its own recommendations to resolve a three-year old pay problem.
The Pharmacists are worried they have not been properly migrated on to an equitable public pay structure, Single Spine Salary Structure.
The Association is therefore serving notice to embark on a strike at the end of February unless the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission can do something about it in 17 days.
GHOSPA suspended a two-month strike last June awaiting the report of a sub-cabinet committee.
But nearly eight months down the line, President of the GHOSPA Stephen Corquaye tells Joy News "government is deliberately refusing to implement their own cabinet sub-committee [resolution] which actually brought up some recommendations to handle our issues amicably".
He said for the past four months, they have petitioned the Minister of Health, the Chief of Staff and the National Labour Commission.
"It looks like all these things have fallen on deaf ears", a frustrated President said.
