The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Kwasi Adjei Boateng, has expressed worry about high rate of road accidents in the municipality in particular and the Eastern Region in general.
He has therefore cautioned drivers to be extra careful this year to reduce road accidents.
Nana Adjei Boateng said this when he addressed commercial drivers in the New Juaben Municipality at a raffle draw of Total Filling Station in Koforidua at the weekend.
The event was organized to reward both commercial and private drivers who patronize the station's products.
Nana Adjei Boateng described the number of people who lost their lives through road accidents this year in the municipality as unfortunate and unacceptable.
He commended management of Total filling station for their good services over the years in the municipality and urged other stations working within the area to emulate them.
The Manager of the station, Mr Isaac Brewu, said the raffle was introduced two years ago to reward drivers who patronize their two filling stations in Koforidua because he considered them as the pivot of the stations.
The draw saw the first 10 drivers presented with 14-inch television sets followed by another set of 10 who received connected mobile phones and the third category also went home with standing fans.Source: GNA
