An auditor, the bursar of Peki Senior High School (PESCO) and a driver are in police grips at the Volta Regional Police Command, for allegedly diverting food items to the auditor's house.Food items meant for students of the school were reportedly diverted to the home of a staff of the Ghana Audit Service.The items include bags of rice, beans, corn, tins of tomatoes, milk, and jerrycans of cooking oil. Also, there were exercise books, labeled with the name of the school in the items moved from the stores of the school to the house of the auditor in Ho, the Reginal capital.They were intercepted by the Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Johnson Avulete, and sent the Regional Command.The auditor and the bursar, whose names are yet to be disclosed, turned themselves in on Saturday and are assisting police with investigations.Addressing a section of the media, the Deputy Regional Minister, Johnson Avulete cautioned that others who are involved in similar nefarious activities, to desist from such because they undermine government's efforts in implementing social interventions.He stressed that anyone caught will be dealt with according to the law.
