The President, John Dramani Mahama, has rescheduled his State of the Nation Address originally planned for Thursday.
The Majority Leader, Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor who informed Parliament on Tuesday said the President postponed it due to some unforeseen circumstances .
The address is delivered at the opening of every parliamentary session in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution. It usually covers the economic, social, and financial state of the country, will now take place on Tuesday 25th February 2014
Last year’s State of the Nation Address was themed: Advancing the Better Ghana - Opportunities for Growth.
Meanwhile, Joy News has gathered that this year's address would dwell heavily on measures government is adopting to minimize the current challenges the economy is going through.
President Mahama is also expected to appeal to Ghanaians to support recent measures announced by Bank of Ghana to stabilize the local currency while promoting consumption of local products to help reduce heavy dependence on foreign products.
He is expected to give a true picture of the state of the economy.
