Andre Ayew has described Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor’s meeting with him and his brother Jordan Ayew as an honour.
The captain and his younger brother held a meeting with Akonnor in the UK on Sunday.
The meeting forms part of Akonnor’s tour of Europe as he monitors Black Stars players and scouts new players for the national team.
"It is an honour for the coach to visit. He has been there before as a captain and understands the situation of wanting to do well for not only us but for all Ghanaians,” Andre said.
“We have had a great meeting. We have a doubleheader and it is good that we win and secure qualification in our quest to bring back the Africa Cup,” he added.
Ayew and Jordan have over 140 caps between them for the senior national team and Akonnor sees them as important to his plans.
Akonnor was appointed last month as Kwesi Appiah’s successor.
His first match will be 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan in March.
