A thanksgiving service was this morning held to climax the three day funeral rites for Komla Dumor.
The late JOY FM and BBC broadcaster was buried yesterday after a funeral service at the forecourt of the State House which attracted many dignitaries, including President John Mahama.
Today it was time to give thanks for a life well lived.
Family and friends of the late Komla Dumor joined members of the Holy Spirit Cathedral to thank God for the life of the late broadcaster.
They also thanked God for sustaining Komla’s family in this period of grief.
Using Komla’s life as an example, the Presiding Minister for the service, Rev. Father Wisdom Larwe asked Christians to strive to attain perfection as Christ did.
The thanksgiving service symbolizes an end to the celebration of a life well lived, even if it ended at 41 years old.
But for some church members, today’s event does not end Komla Dumor’s influence on their lives.
Komla Dumor, a former Ghana Journalist of the Year, died of cardiac arrest on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at age 41 in London. He left behind a wife and three children.
He was a youth chief in his home town of Aflao in the Ketu South District of the Volta region. His chieftaincy title was Torgbui Tenuvi I.
Komla Dumor was described by many as a man of peace who had the interest of his people at heart.
