Young prospective entrepreneurs are appealing  to government to make the Youth Entrepreneurial Support (YES) Fund beneficial to them.

The 10 million cedis fund was announced by president John Mahama, Tuesday, during his state of the nation address.

The fund according to the president is expected to provide some financial assistance for youth with entrepreneurial skills and to create jobs from their business ideas.

The young entrepreneurs, some of whom spoke to Joy News TV's Gifty Andoh hoped there will be no discrimination in the execution of the fund.

Checks with the Youth and Sports ministry indicate the fund will be administered directly under the office of the president.

The Deputy Minister will not give any further details about the modalities of how the fund will be administered except to say that the fund will ease the burden on the implementation of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).

He said fund will be officially launched next week

Some of the prospective beneficiaries of the fund say they can't wait for its implementation.

A Level 200 student at the University of Ghana, Felicia Eti who sells decorated slippers and beads said "the selection criteria should be devoid of nepotism, discrimination. We will make the most of the fund and are expecting it to be fully operational within four months."
