Patients in desperate need of medical care at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) are solidarizing with health personnel over recent baby theft scandal at the facility.
They say the allegations of baby theft at the hospital mean little to them in their perception about an institution they believe offers the best of health care in the region.
KATH has been in the news lately over a baby death scandal. Five babies were said to have died at birth but the bodies are yet to be found.
One of families of the missing stillbirth babies went on rampage assaulting doctors and nurses at hospital demanding the body of the baby to be buried according to Islamic traditions.
The doctors responded to the assault with a strike but were later convinced to return to duty.
The Ministry of Health after an investigation into the scandal issued a report on the missing baby at the hospital and questioned the conduct of a doctor and a midwife in the whole saga.
The two professionals have been asked to proceed on leave pending investigations, but Nhyira News checks reveal patients are backing the doctors.
Ohemeng Tawiah reported large number of patients had lined up at the OPD in search for health care.
While they describe the disappearance of the babies as unfortunate the patients say their faith, trust in the doctors remain steadfast.
