The management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have postponed a scheduled meeting today to respond to a directive by the health ministry.
The ministry is demanding that they account for five babies believed to have died during delivery at the facility.
Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah, who has been monitoring events at the facility reports that the meeting has now been fixed for Wednesday.
The meeting is expected to be attended by 11 board members comprising six management members and five other appointees.
There has been an unofficial discussion among management ahead of tomorrow’s meeting to deliberate on the ministry’s directive, Nhyira News gathered.
A communiqué issued by the ministry to the hospital titled ‘account for five still born babies’ raised five questions.
These include; what accounted for the deaths of the babies; what has happened to the babies; and the hospital procedures for disposing off still baby.
