The Air Traffic Controllers at the Kotoka International Airport have called off their strike allowing domestic airlines to resume operations.
The controllers withdrew their services accusing management of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority of failing to address safety, operational, technical issues they raised earlier this year.
Hundreds of passengers, especially those booked for local flights were left stranded at the Accra, Kumasi and Tamale Airports as a result of the strike.
Transport Minister Dzifa Attivor was unhappy with the action and accused the air traffic controllers of acting in "bad faith."
She was reported to have met with leaders of the Association of the Air Traffic Controllers to discuss their grievances and was assured that members of the association would allow for time to address the issues.
Joy News TV's Gifty Andoh-Appiah who is present at the GCAA told Myjoyonline.com the strike has been called off.
She said there are discussions still underway to find a lasting solution to the problem.
Director General of the GCAA, Air Commodore Nana Kwame Manphey later confirmed the strike had been called off and thanked the travelling public for their patience.
