The Northern Regional Minister, Bede Zeiden visited Bimbilla, where he led a team from the Regional Security Council to meet the two factions in the Bimbilla chieftaincy divide, to agree on how to maintain peace in the area.
This is after police have strengthened security in the area, following yesterday’s sporadic shootings, which led to the death of one person.
Two factions in the area clashed over burial arrangements for the Chief of the town, who passed away on Wednesday.
Police will remain in Bimbilla throughout the weekend and Crime Officer for Bimbilla, ASP Owusu Dwomoh tells Joy News, Friday, that the 12-hour curfew imposed on Bimbilla after the shootings, will be reviewed after an assessment on Monday.
Meanwhile, fifteen persons held in connection with the incident, have been transferred to Tamale as police prepare to arraign them before court on Monday.
