Premier League campaigners Obuasi Ashgold returned to their favourite Len Clay Stadium after serving a three match home ban with a 4-0 drubbing of Gamba All Blacks in the 11th week Premier League match played on Sunday.
The soccer Miners have since the beginning of the league been made to play their matches away from their favourite home base following a three match ban placed on them by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Right from the blast of the whistle, the Miners indicated their determination to win the day with an all attacking game and succeeded in getting the opener in the 15th minute through Nathaniel Quaye who connected home a pass from Alex Asamoah.
The visitors accepted the challenge and made several incursions into Ashgold’s goal area but wasted the chances that came their way.
Both sides lifted up their game in the second half but it was Ashgold who once again had the upper hand as they scored their third goal in the 54th minute through Emmanuel Adjetey who also benefited from another pass from Asamoah.
Asamoah crowned his efforts with two personal goals in the 58th and 85th minutes respectively to end the match.
