One person has been confirmed dead and several others severely injured in an accident on the N1 Highway in Accra.
The accident which occurred on Friday has been described as a multiple crash involving five vehicles; a commercial mini bus ‘trotro’, a Land Cruiser, a Camry, and two articulated trucks.
A personnel of the Red Cross Emergency Unit, Francis Obeng reported that the “trotro was carrying some passengers but they have all been evacuated to the hospital” but the driver of the Land Cruiser has been pronounced dead due to a brain injury he sustained.
“He had an injury to the brain and the whole head was smashed off so we can confirm that he is dead but the rest have been sent to the hospital,” he said.
The Police are currently at the scene to ascertain the cause of the accident.
