The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is advocating that West African countries negotiate trade agreements as a bloc instead of going in as individual countries.
This according to the Ministry will yield the best results.
Director at the Foreign Affairs Ministry Sena Siaw Boateng disclosed this when she launched the first ever Euro African Youth Parliament in Accra on Wednesday.
The programme which takes place in Berlin, Germany from Monday, will see 50 African youth and 50 European youth come together to deliberate on issues including security in Africa.
Madam Sena Siaw Boateng said negotiating as a bloc as it is being done with the Economic Partnership Agreement will place West African countries in a much favourable condition.
She also advised the Ghanaian youth going for the programme to be good ambassadors.
Giving his keynote address, the German Ambassador to Ghana His Excellency John Ruediger said the German government decided to be part of the programme as a way of ensuring equal partnership.
He said the German Foreign Ministry is working on a new approach to build better collaboration with African countries, particular Ghana.
He said one of the new ways of dealing with Africa was to exchange ideas rather always think for Africans.
Ruediger said it was his hope that what the youth would discuss would be heard by policy makers.
He wished the delegates well and asked them to have fun as they spend the few days in Berlin.
The programme is organized by the Youth Bridge Foundation, the European Youth Parliament with funding from the German government and GIZ.
It starts from Monday 24th March to Friday 4th April.
