The Deputy Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing, Sampson Ahi has called for more dialogue to find a lasting solution to the challenges confronting the water sector.
His call comes as Ghana joins the rest of the world to mark Water Day today.
This year’s celebration is under the theme “Water and Energy”, seeking to draw the linkage between water and energy supply.
A durbar was organised at the Jubilee Park in the Western Region to mark the occasion.
Mr. Ahi told the durbar of chiefs and people in the Western Region government is committed to ensuring adequate supply of water and energy.
He said the theme is even more relevant in an era where energy supply is affecting water production.
He called on all stakeholders to think about the positive connection between water and energy and to fashion out plans to make the two available at all times.
The country has recently been facing water challenges some of which have been attributed to power outages.
Mr Ahi believes when energy is sorted the country would also get a handle on the water challenges.
