A football player of Awutu Queen Annan F/C, Isaac Ackon has been banned from participating in the Central Region Division Two League for 12 months for assaulting referee Philip Arthur Forson.
Ackon assaulted referee Forson during a match between Annan FC and Kasoa 24/7 United at Awutu on April 13 this year.
A release issued by the Regional Football Association (RFA), in Cape Coast said Ackon has also been fined GH¢50.00 to be paid within 14 days for the assault on the referee.
The Association also fined Annan FC GH¢10.00 for failing to provide security during the match, and an additional GH¢5.00 for failing to pay transport and traffic claims for the match, which contravened the RFA laws.
According to the release, the ban on the player takes effect from the date of the incident.
