President John Mahama has consoled the president and people of Malaysia for the tragic event of the missing airplane.
The world was struck with the news of the missing Flight MH370 on 8 March as it flew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people - mostly Chinese nationals - on board.
The plane has since not been found.
Speaking to the High Commissioner designate to Malaysia, Cheong Loon Lai at the Flagstaff House, President John Mahama was saddened by the event and hoped the matter would soon have some closure .
The Commissioner designate was also hopeful of positive news as far as the missing aircraft was concerned as well as better investment partnership between the two countries.
Cheong Loon Lai was one of five new heads of diplomatic missions who were presented with their letters of credence.
The Spanish Ambassador designate Maria Jesus Alonzo was the first to present her credentials.
An agreement between the Kingdom of Spain and Ghana on steel bridge construction was the focus of their discussion.
The steel bridge construction was part of a €60 million loan agreement between the two countries in 2009.
Congratulating President Mahama on his ECOWAS chairmanship, Maria Jesus Alonzo said maritime security will also be an area of focus adding, bilateral relations between the two countries would also be crucial.
Next was the Chinese ambassador designate Sun Baohong.
President Mahama commended China's involvement in many ongoing projects in Ghana including the Bui Hydro power project.
He urged the new head of diplomatic mission to continue with the bilateral discussions started with her predecessor in the area of mining.
Sun Baohong said she was fully aware of the responsibilities ahead of her, assuring the president of China's continued support in other areas such as education, agriculture as well as the gas processing plant which she said would be completed in July.
He has also urged China to forge ahead with discussions on land reclamation from illegal small scale mining activities in Ghana.
Pakistan High Commissioner designate Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ashraf Saleem also presented his letter of credence.
He was also excited about investment opportunities available in Ghana. He would however be resident in Nigeria.
The other Ambassador designate, Alekos Ikonomopoulos who will head the diplomatic mission for Greece would also be resident in Abuja, Nigeria.
