Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) will soon embark on a biometric registration of all its members in the country.

The Wa SSNIT branch manager, Henry Imoro revealed the plan at a day’s sensitization meeting in Wa organized for their members.
The one day sensitisation workshop organised by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) brought together workers and pensioners to sensitize them on the new biometric registration they intend to embark on and also to solicit their support in rolling out the new programme.
The Wa branch manager of SSNIT, Henry Imoro stated that that his outfit is changing their applications to enable them deliver superior services to the members.
Henry Imoro said members encounter challenges when they want to do business with the SSNIT hence the need to open up multiple delivery channels to enable their members’ access services from them through different avenues without coming to their offices.
He revealed that they have developed a smart card which will be known as the information kiosk where members can access their beneficiary statements and update their records without necessarily coming to their offices.
Speaking about the advantages of the new policy Imoro said the new system will help majority of their members, especially bankers who find it difficult to move away from their banks.
