Barcelona are ready to conduct a massive squad re-shuffle with as many as 16 of their first team squad set be offloaded according to Spanish source Sport.
With the club’s transfer ban having been suspended the Catalan giants are free to chop and change their side as they please and given that Barcelona are likely to go the entire season without any silverware for the first time since 2007/08 it’s perhaps no surprise that such changes would occur.
Among those set to be axed include a fair few talents that will raise big transfer fees that can then be reinvested by the La Liga side and there is bound to be a great deal of interest in the likes of Dani Alves, Cesc Fabregas, Javier Mascherano, Alexis Sanchezand Pedro.
Carles Puyol, Jose Pinto and Victor Valdes will all leave when their contracts expire at the end of the current campaign.
