4Kids Channel on Multi TV has organised a fun-filled trip to the highest mountain in Ghana, Mount Afadjato.
The trip was organised by the 4Kids Channel and was opened to all children, including the winners of the 4th edition of the 4Kids Essay Competition.
The children had lots of fun while exploring the mountainous natural beauty of Afadjato.
After the trip, the words on the lips of all those who successfully climbed were, "we have conquered Afadjato".
Linguist of the area, Togbe Wilson Kofi Osei, told the kids after the climb that, the original name for the mountain was ‘Ava Dza To’ which literally means ‘War against a skin itching plant’.
According to him, the mountain is 2905ft (888m), and takes an average of 45 minutes to get to the top.
The 4Kids Channel embarks on such trips each year as part of efforts to expose the children to the country’s eco-tourism sites and introduce them to the country’s amazing cultures, values and norms.
