National Security has once again pulled down two security posts under construction at the Okponglo entrance of the University of Ghana, Legon.
The security booths were being reconstructed after it was razed down in February this year on the orders Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey (retd.), who was then the National Security Coordinator.
Col Gbevlo Lartey (retd) had claimed the booths under construction were creating a public nuisance.
The recent demolition happened at dawn on Tuesday June 3, 2014.

This comes after meetings between National Security and the university authorities over the construction of the security booths.
National Security secretariat had issued a statement insisting a meeting last Friday with the University of Ghana and personnel from the Motor Transport and Traffic Department of Ghana Police Service ended with a decision that the university stops the reconstruction, conducts an impact assessment from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) before it can go ahead with the reconstruction of the security post.
But the University of Ghana in a statement issued by its Director of Public Affairs, Mrs Stella A. Amoa rebuffed claims by the National Security.
“The meeting ended with a request from the security officials for the University to allay the fears of sections of the public with more publicity.
“At no time did the security officials direct the University to stop work on the structure. No such directive has been received subsequently.
“Any press reports that suggest that the University has been directed to stop the construction are false,” the statement emphasized.
The University insisted that the contruction was lawful.
National Security is yet to comment on reasons behind Tuesday dawn's demolitions exercise.
