A fire swept through row houses in Philadelphia early Saturday, killing four people and displacing dozens more, authorities said.
The three-alarm fire was reported at 2:46 a.m. ET in the southwest part of the city, the Fire Department said.
The four dead were children, CNN affiliate WPVI reported, citing officials.
The victims were a one-month-old baby boy, 4-year-old twin girls, and a 4-year-old boy, WPVI reported.
Two 11-year-old girls suffered smoke inhalation, the report said.
People tried to rescue the children, who were trapped during the fire that engulfed eight homes, WPVI reported.
More than 40 people were displaced. Another local news report said a shelter had been set up for people at a nearby high school.
The blaze is now under control.
Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer said investigators are working to find out where the fire started.
