Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan scored for his French side Rennes in his first game for the club in over four months.
The 22-year-old, who has been out action since August because of a thigh injury, scored in Rennes' second side's 2-1 win over Valves over the weekend.
Gyan struck the winner late in the game after converting a penalty when he was brought down in the box.
He showed his usual dexterity when he made light work of two defenders before being brought down by the keeper.
Gyan picked himself up to send the keeper the wrong way thus securing victory for his club.
After enduring a frustrating start to his Ligue 1 career the striker is confident he is ready for full-time action.
"It was great to score and I am definitely feeling that I am ready to play competitive matches," Gyan told www.ghanasoccernet.com.
Gyan joined Rennes in a four-year-deal from Serie A club Udinese in July.Source: Ghanasoccernet
