Manchester City forward Robinho is a doubt for his side's festive fixtures after suffering a recurrence of an ankle injury against Racing Santander. The Brazilian came off at half-time in City's 3-1 Uefa Cup Group A defeat in Spain on Thursday. He was a surprise inclusion because of his recent ankle problems and now faces a race to face West Brom on Sunday."Robinho was not able to continue so he is a big doubt for the weekend," said City boss Mark Hughes.Robinho, who appeared short of fitness during City's home defeat by Everton on Sunday, had missed his side's previous two games against Paris St Germain and Fulham. He has not been fully fit since City's win over Arsenal on 22 November. And with crucial trips to fellow strugglers West Brom and Blackburn - as well as a home game against Hull - to come in City's busy Christmas programme, Hughes is anxious about the availability of his £32.5m summer signing."We are staying here overnight so we will check everyone in the morning," added Hughes."In the last three games he has been struggling with an injury and that was a concern to him here."Hughes conceded his side played poorly against Santander, who dominated the match, but felt he had to rest some players because of his side's congested fixture list."We made changes as we wanted to give the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips, Stephen Ireland and Vincent Kompany a little bit of a rest," explained Hughes."I think that was important given the number of games coming up. They are key players for us."Despite the defeat, City still finished top of Group A.Source: BBC
