The Chairman of the Management team of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club, Mr. Sylvester Asare-Owusu, has debunked speculations that members of the team are divided.
He said on the contrary the Management team was united, focused and committed for the betterment of the Club.
Briefing the press in Kumasi, Mr. Asare-Owusu, cautioned the media to be circumspect about their reportage and desist from peddling unsubstantiated allegations about members of the Management.
He attributed Kotoko’s recent cancellation of its purported international friendly match against Hearts of Oak in Italy to problems of communication and ill-preparation on the part of the Club, explaining that “We did not cancel the said match because of division among the management team.”
“We had good reasons to cancel the friendly encounter as authorities of Kotoko were not adequately briefed about the conditions and monies attached to the match,” he added.
Mr Asare-Owusu called on the players and well-meaning supporters of the Club to always use the Club’s rules and laid-down regulations to settle their differences amicably instead of going on air to address issues.
This, he said, would help enhance cohesion among stakeholders whilst also ensuring the total development of the Club.
Mr. Asare-Owusu cautioned supporters to do away with arrogance, violence and backbiting and instead commit their resources towards the re-building exercise which had just been embarked upon by the Management.
