Thousands of people thronged the Wa Naa's palace in the Upper West Region to catch a glimpse of Ghana’s most beautiful winner, Abigail Bentie Bashirata.
Nicknamed Baci, she was welcomed by people from all ages and walks of life.
Welcoming her to his palace, Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV congratulated her for the feat chalked, stating that her victory brought smiles to all the people in the region.
Speaking through an interpreter, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo reminded the beauty queen about the journey she started at the palace some few months ago, a journey which has brought her to the limelight.
‘‘You showed the people the stuff the region is made of and you beautifully sold our culture to the outside world.
People had sleepless nights because of you. People glued to their TV sets whilst texting and praying for you. At the end of the day, you didn’t disappoint them, you showed your class," he added.
Before arriving at the Wa Naa’s palace, she first paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Upper West regional minister, Dr. Mohammed Alfa Musheibu at his office.
An elated Dr. Musheibu congratulated her for winning the Ghana most beautiful crown organised by TV3 network limited.
‘‘You did not only win the crown but showed the true culture of the region. Your performance in the TV3 reality show has shown the true potential of the region.
You have portrayed the culture and tradition of the people not only with strength and beauty but with alacrity. This is a lady who showcased the region and put it above all the other nine regions," he indicated.
Dr. Musheibu said through the efforts of the winner, the image of the region has been enhanced.
He said the feat chalked will serve as a source of motivation and inspiration to the teeming youth not only in the region but the country at large.
The deputy minister on behalf of the Upper West Regional Minister, Amin Amidu Sulemani conferred the status of renowned citizen of the Upper West region on the winner, assuring, she will always be accorded that respect.
The deputy Upper West regional minister pledged the support of the Upper West regional coordinating council to whatever project she may be embarking on.
Baci on her part thanked the people of the region for their support and encouragement.
She said she was happy to be back home and thanked the people for their support and prayers.
