FIFA have announced the 20 defenders shortlisted for its FIFPro World XI - and each of Brazil's first-choice defenders at the World Cup have made it.
Former captain Thiago Silva, Real Madrid's Marcelo, ex-Chelsea man David Luiz and Barcelona's Dani Alves have all been shortlisted, despite the Selecao's crumbling on home soil.
Bayern Munich defender Dante - who deputised for Thiago Silva in the 7-1 hammering by eventual winners Germany - isn't included.
The FIFA FIFPro World XI is decided by the players, for the players. It involves votes from tens of thousands professional footballers worldwide.
They select one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three forwards.
The shortlist features three defenders from Bayern Munich - Philipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng, and David Alaba - as well as four from Barcelona - Alves, Gerard Pique, Javier Mascherano and Jordi Alba.
However, Real Madrid lead the way in terms of numbers, with five Los Blancosdefenders nominated: Marcelo is joined by Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal andFrance starlet Raphael Varane.
Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta and Vincent Kompany are both nominated, as are Chelsea pair Branislav Ivanovic and Filipe Luis.
