The Abrepo Branch Manager of Ecobank Ghana, Richard Sallah, has been shot dead by unidentified assailants, Friday.
Mr Sallah's attackers, numbering four, according Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor, broke into the banker's home at dawn, shot at him and made away with a TV set, some cash and a laptop.
Mr Sallah was rushed to a nearby hospital after he was shot in the face but hospital authorities pronounced him dead on arrival.
The 39-year-old banker was also a Reverend Minister at Lighthouse Chapel International.
Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP Osei Ampofo-Duku, said preliminary investigation points to an armed robbery.
He said the robbers got access to the house by cutting parts of the security wires because it was not connected to electricity.
ACP Ampofo-Duku said information they have gathered so far also shows that the robbers got into the house by using car jacks to open the burglar proofs and blocks to open the doors.
Mr Sallah's wife, daughter and mother-in-law were in the house at the time of the incident. None of them were attacked by the robbers.
