Three people including a police general constable were killed in three separate accidents in the Upper West Regional capital, Wa, Saturday.
They included General Constable, Bayuo Gaeten of the Wa Police Station and two others- 25-years-old Joshua Dakurah, a graduate of the UDS and 70-year-old Dauda Abdul Rahman, who works with a private security company.
The police officer was said to be riding an unregistered Qlink motorbike when a SsangYong mini bus with registration number GT 2720 - T, crushed him from the opposite direction.
The driver of the bus, 38-year-old Musah Adams later turned himself to the police.
In the other incident, drivers of the vehicles that allegedly knocked and killed the ex-UDS student and the private security man at Kpaguri and Sombo respectively, are said to have absconded.
Regional Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Joseph Oppong confirmed the deaths to Joy News' Correspondent Rafiq Salam.
DSP Joseph Oppong said investigations have begun to unravel the cause of the accident involving the late Constable Bayuo as well as arrest the 'hit-and-run' drivers in the other two cases.
The death of the trio last night brings to five, the total of fatalities recorded on the road in the municipality last week alone.
There were four other accidents that occurred Saturday night many sustained injuries and receiving treatment the Wa Regional Hospital.
