Following media reports of his achievements, President John Mahama today arrived at Ashanti Regional Police Command to pay a surprise visit on the regional commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye.
Joy News’ Erastus Asare Donkor reports that the President, accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Minister toured the new M.A. Alhassan police conference hall and the newly rehabilitated regional police headquarters.

President Mahama described the headquarters as “the most beautiful regional headquarters in the country” and lauded the leadership of DCOP Boakye as unique, hands-on, and deserving emulation across the nation.

Commending the Regional Commander and his team for their innovation in the collaborative effort between the command and the private sector in renovating the headquarters, Mr. Mahama said security and peace is a collective responsibility and called for more private sector support for the security agencies in order to promote peace and security across the Nation.
DCOP Boakye expressed his elation at the visit, saying that the recognition given him by the President would further boost his morale.
