Allowances due to National Service personnel for the month of November are to be paid on December 29, 2014, the Secretariat has announced.
According to a statement issued in Accra, the Acting Executive Director Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte noted that “all the necessary auditing and validation of pay vouchers at the NSS Secretariat for the payment of November, 2014 allowances have been completed, and cheques have been dispatched to the various regions to complete the process of payment of personnel allowances”.
According to the statement, District Directors of the Scheme are expected to begin payment of the allowances by the 29th of December 2014; and thus, advised service personnel to contact their respective NSS District Offices to go through the payment processes.
Meanwhile, the Secretariat is appealing to user agencies to use the opportunities presented by the yuletide to show appreciation for the work and contributions of service personnel to national development.
The statement expressed gratitude to the service personnel for their “sacrifices, dedication, and contribution to government’s agenda of improving the livelihood of Ghanaians”.
