The Ghanaian lady busted in the UK for allegedly smuggling 12.5 kilograms of cocaine, Ruby Adu-Gyamfi also known as Nayele Ametefeh is expected to reappear at the Isleworth Crown Court today.

At the last hearing, she pleaded guilty to the charge of importing narcotics to the UK.

But indications are that she may change her plea to not guilty.

The Ghanaian/Austrian lady pleaded guilty to exporting narcotic drugs to the United Kingdom on her first appearance in court on November 27, 2014, following her arrest.

But a former Senior Crown Prosecutor in the UK, Godwin Adjei-Gyamfi, in a Facebook post, said, "A call was made to the court on the 2/01/15 that she indeed wishes to vacate her guilty plea. The court is yet to inform the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) formally because the staff who received the call is not sure of the authenticity of the call."

Nayele was due in court on Monday January 5, but hearing was postponed to Tuesday, January 6, 2015 because prosecutors could not complete a forensic evaluation of the purity of the cocaine.

Nayele Ametefeh was been charged with carrying substances suspected to be cocaine.

She had pleaded guilty to the offence and asked to be sentenced on her first day in court November 27, 2014.

But her sentencing was deferred to enable analysis of the substance and street valuation determined.

Joy News has learnt Nayele has dismissed her lawyers, and would appear in court today with new barristers.

Her new lawyers reportedly called the court to indicate she intends changing her plea to not guilty.

Whether she does that will be known by 2pm UK time when she appears in court.

Six other persons including friends of Naayele, and staff at the Kotoka International Airport are standing trial at the Accra circuit court for aiding her traffic the drugs out of the country.

They have pleaded not guilty to the offence, and have been granted bail.
