Thousands of the underprivileged children and adults in the Ashanti region had a reason to smile during the festive period as they were fed and clothed by the Region’s most popular radio station, Nhyira 104.5 FM.
The annual event dubbed ‘Nhyira Abodoo’, held on Boxing Day every year, seeks to make Christmas worthwhile for the less privileged.
The Kejetia Lorry Park, which was the venue for the party was jam-packed with about 5,000 people at the 7th edition of the event.
It was all joy and excitement on the faces of beneficiaries as they went home with attractive packages of assorted food and clothing, besides what they enjoyed at the grounds.
Everyone was treated to a variety of food and drinks while they danced and fraternized with staff of Nhyira FM.
Each of the 20 charity homes invited for the event also received a cash donation of One thousand, one hundred Ghana cedis (Gh¢1,100.00).
Beneficiaries could not hide their joy as they heaped praises on Nhyira FM for championing the cause of the underprivileged.
Nhyira Abodoo is supported by philanthropic individuals and organizations, both within and outside Ghana.
The highest donor for this year’s event is former Defence Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia, Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, with Gh¢1,000.00 cash.
