Workers of the Metro Mass Transit Limited were on January 12, 2015 embarked on a nationwide strike asking government to investigate several allegations leveled against some top management members of the company.
The strike made thousands of passengers across the country stranded with students and traders being the hardest hit.
The agitated workers gathered at the company’s head office in Accra singing and chanting war song.
At about 10: 10am the Minister of Transport, Madam Dzifa Ativor arrived to meet the leadership of the Workers Union to find solution to their problem.
The strike was subsequently suspended for at least two weeks.
