An accused robber on court bail, Abdulla Hussein, has been arrested together with another person by the police in Kumasi over another robbery incident.
Hussein, alias “Baba” and Yussif Nurudeen, reportedly attacked and robbed a number of people on December 22, last year, at Aboabo, Ayigya and other communities near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwaku Ampofo Duku, Deputy Ashanti Regional Commander, told a media briefing that a short barreled gun, five cartridges, screw driver and pair of scissors alongside a military uniform were seized from them.
He said the arrest of the two was based upon intelligence.
The police received information that the gang dressed in military uniform, were terrorising and robbing people of their money and other valuables.
ACP Duku said they managed to track down the criminals and arrested them at Aboabo.
It was in the course of police investigations that it came out that Hussein is standing trial at the KMA Circuit Court for a similar offence and has been granted bail.
He said they would be arraigned as soon as the police complete their investigations.
